The Visionary
Gianna Talone Sullivan is the visionary in Emmitsburg, Maryland
who receives messages from the Blessed Mother. Gianna and her husband relocated
from Scottsdale, Arizona to Emmitsburg in November 1993 at the request
of the Blessed Mother.
Gianna began receiving messages in Scottsdale
1988 following a pilgrimage with her pastor and other young adults to
Medjugorje.
Messages given to Gianna at Scottsdale have been published in the 4 volumes
of "I AM Your Jesus of Mercy" by the Riehle
Foundation, P.O Box 7, Milford, Ohio.
Location
The town of Emmitsburg is located in Northern Maryland just west
of U.S. Highway 15 which is the main 4 lane highway in the area. Emmitsburg
is a few miles south of the Pennsylvania State line and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
It is about 1 1/2 hours from Washington, D.C. and about 1 hour from Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania.
The prayer service was held at St. Joseph Church on North Seton Avenue in Emmitsburg generally every Thursday night (except on holy days). St. Joseph's is the parish church for the town.

Information
At the request of the Archbishop of Baltimore, the Thursday prayer vigils have been canceled until further notice.
The following was the parish schedule for the weekly Thursday prayer
vigil during the period the vigils were still being held.
| 8:30am | Mass, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
Exposition is available all day until the beginning of the evening mass. |
| 2:00pm | Five decades of the Rosary, followed by the Angelus and Chaplet of
Divine Mercy.
The Rosary then continues through the afternoon. |
| 7:00pm | Recitation of the Rosary with Gianna, during which the message of the
message of the Blessed Mother is given to Gianna.
The Divine Mercy Chaplet is recited following the rosary. Upon completion of the Chaplet, a priest will read the message. Evening Mass and benediction begin following the reading. When Mass is over, a healing service begins. |
| 9:30pm | The day of prayer usually ends after which all are invited to join the parish community at the parish social hall, next to the Church. |

Reaction
In a letter dated Aug. 30 from Msgr.
Jeremiah F. Kenner, who was writing on behalf of Cardinal Keeler, he stated
that Gianna Talone Sullivan had been investigated by the Diocese of Phoenix,
and nothing contrary to Faith was found. He stated that the position of
the Archdiocese of Baltimore is neutral on the matter at this time.
In a response to a query from Edmund J. Koenke, the Secretary to the Archbishop of Baltimore - Cardinal Keeler, wrote the following:

Statement Concerning the Alleged Apparations to Gianna Talone-Sullivan in Emmitsburg.
1) The Archdiocese of Baltimore can no longer give tacit approval to these alleged apparations. Following a careful examination of information related to them, we find there is no objective basis to the alleged apparations.
2) The Archdiocese of Baltimore has directed that the Thursday night prayer group meetings held at St. Joseph Church in Emmitsburg, Maryland, be discontinued until further notice.
3) The Archdiocese of Baltimore is unable to support the message of the video, "Unbridled Mercy" and has asked that sales of the video be discontinued immediately.
Later this week I understand that there will be a statement issued on our website and through The Catholic Review, our archdiocesan newspaper.
